7 Things to do this Mother's Day
Mother’s Day is nearly here in the UK and if you’re looking to get ahead in your planning then you’re in the right place. We’ve put together some ideas for activities to help you spend some quality time together, as well as free and low cost gifts she’ll love.
Mothering Sunday lands on the 30th March this year so you still have time to get yourself organised and make sure you haven’t made plans with anyone else!
You don’t have to spend loads of money on a fancy meal or expensive gifts to show your mum you love her, you just need to put in some time and thought to plan something that’s perfect for her.
Here are some of the activities we’ll be organising to make sure our mums feel valued this Mother’s Day.
Breakfast in bed!

A mother’s day classic, a homemade breakfast in bed is the perfect way to start the day and rustle up her favourite meal. Whether it’s pancakes, pastries, or scrambled eggs, putting together a tray with a colourful napkin and a fresh flower will really tie the gesture together and is sure to bring a smile to her face.
Make a Bouquet

Speaking of flowers, rather than buying an expensive pre-made bouquet, why not pick up a few bunches of her favourite flowers and make your own? Alternatively, spend your morning together with some flower arranging to perfectly suit her taste.
Go for a Picnic

Now that you’re up and about, pack your sandwiches, some biscuits, and maybe a bottle of fizz and head out into the countryside for a walk and a picnic. You could spend some time exploring a picturesque town nearby or wander through a scenic woodland; if you’re lucky, you might even catch some bluebells.
Visit a Gallery
If you can’t make it out to the countryside, or the weather isn’t adhering to your plans, there are still plenty of ways to get out and about. Have a look at what’s on in your local area. Visiting an exhibition or gallery is a lovely way to spend some time together, and you might even be able to find something free, especially if it’s a smaller show.
Pottery Class

If you’re feeling creative, why not book a pottery class together? Lots of studios now offer short pottery making classes, or pottery painting sessions where you get to come home with your very own piece of art! If pottery’s not your thing, have a look at the Sip & Paint classes gaining popularity recently for a creative activity in a relaxed setting.
See a Show
You might also find that there are some shows going on in your local area or further afield. Treat mum to an evening at the theatre, comedy club, or cinema. You can get dressed up, have a drink beforehand, and enjoy some entertainment and laughs.
Try a Dance Class

Finally, if you’re in the mood for a boogie, look up some dance classes in your local area. Lots of small studios offer taster classes which are a great way for beginners to have some fun and pick up new skills. Whether it’s ballroom, tap, or aerial hoop, you’re sure to have a good time - and a few giggles - trying out a new challenge.
There are loads of creative and fun ways to spend time with your beloved mum this Mother's Day, so get planning in advance and you're sure to impress her with something new that she'll love. Remember that the most important thing is quality time together, so don't overthink it and try to focus on the things you love doing with her.
We hope you have a wonderful day!
