What a Weekend! Women Unleashed with Y.O.U Underwear

For International Women's Day this year, the Y.O.U Team was involved in an action-packed 2-day event hosted at the Bullring in Birmingham. The event was a celebration of female joy and community hosted by Lou Featherstone (aka Lu in Luland) a previous model of our underwear and a female empowerment guru. Women from all over the country came together for International Women’s Day, embracing their self-worth, confidence and style through inspirational talks, workshops and of course the opportunity to be a model for the day in our underwear! 

Talks & Workshops

Both mornings boasted a dynamic and inspiring line-up of speakers, with talks designed to empower women in all facets of their lives. Speakers included wealth coach Sara-Jane Maxwell, nutritionist and holistic health therapist Daniella Luan, as well as female fashion entrepreneur Ronke Fashola, and Knee Deep in Life founder Laura Belbin to name just a few. Lu herself shared her 10 top tips for self love, which was followed by Sarah's introducing Y.O.U Underwear - with Lu live modelling her favourite set on the stage!

It was a jam packed day with a face yoga and meditation session guided by Tash, Joyologist Donna Easton sharing the fundamentals of being happy, and an inspiring talk from genocide survivor Taban Soresh OBE who set up the Lotus Flower charity to support women and girls who have survived conflict. It left everyone feeling inspired, full of confidence and like they could take on the world! 

The Y.O.U Photoshoot - Finding Confidence within Y.O.U 

Each afternoon involved a selection of workshops, including attendees finding their inner model for the day while posing in Y.O.U underwear. The shoot was all about feeling your best, boosting women’s confidence, and celebrating body positivity in a fun setting with photographer Sassy. Her relaxed and professional style helped even the most hesitant attendees transform into confident underwear models.

In addition to the colourful backdrop and bright red lip-shaped sofa, our wonderful participants got to rummage through Lu’s fabulous wardrobe, adding pops of colour to complement their underwear. The shoot was filled with so much infectious love, laughter, and support, and seeing everyone so confident and happy put a big smile on our faces. It was a brilliant transformation (helped by a little Prosecco!) with initially terrified women reluctant to put their clothes back on by the end of the afternoon.

By the end of the two days we were exhausted, but full to the brim with inspiration and joy. As always, we were overwhelmed by the commitment and energy shown by our models and the beauty of women gathering together. We have to say a huge THANK YOU to Lu for making this event happen and for instilling everyone with such power and confidence. For now we are reflecting on a brilliant weekend and looking forward to planning the next one…
